Liu Wanhua, Deputy Director of the Laboratory, Gives a Report at the Seminar on Talent Strategy and Mechanism Innovation of New Research and Development Institutions

On June 3, 2023, the Seminar on Talent Strategy and Mechanism Innovation of New Research and Development Institutions was successfully held in Chengdu. The seminar was hosted by the Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University, and co-organized by 10 units including Chengdu Science and Technology Advisory Group Consulting Center, Tianfu New Area Talent Development Promotion Association, and Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as “the Laboratory”). Liu Wanhua, Deputy Director of the Laboratory, was invited to give a guiding report.

At the National (Local) Laboratory Talent Strategy and Mechanism Innovation Sub-Forum, Deputy Director Liu Wanhua gave a report titled “Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory Talent Strategy Planning”. During this session, Deputy Director Liu Wanhua shared the talent strategy of the Laboratory from two aspects: talent strategic planning and talent work achievements. As per the report, talent is the foundation of the Laboratory’s development, and talent team planning is pivotal to talent team construction. The Laboratory scientifically plans four categories of talents teams including scientific research talents, engineering experimental technology talents, industrial talents, and management service talents, creating a scientific research and technical talent structure akin to a ‘wild goose mode’.

Subsequently, Deputy Director Liu Wanhua summarized the talent work achievements of the Laboratory with five keywords: prioritizing systems, swift team establishment, task execution, effective motivation, and strong guarantee. She pointed out that the Laboratory has organized various talent recruitment and introduction activities. These efforts include publicly announcing recruitment positions through prominent media outlets, universities, and online recruitment platforms, as well as pursuing the recruitment and integration of high-level talents through leveraging the Torch Program and targeting overseas outstanding youths globally. Next, the Laboratory needs to proactively advance the construction of the park and strive to create a favorable environment wherein researchers can devote themselves to research.
