Zhang Yuanhang, born in 1957 in Chongqing, is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor of Peking University.
His main research area is coordinated strategy of pollution and carbon reduction, and atmospheric environmental chemistry, with the focus on the formation mechanism of urban and regional atmospheric compound pollution, environmental impact and control countermeasures. He has led the implementation of more than 20 projects including national 973/863/support projects, the project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and key provincial and ministerial projects, published more than 200 SCI papers, and won a number of national, provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards. His research results have provided scientific and technological support for the prevention and control of air pollution in China and the continuous improvement of air quality in the Pearl River Delta.

Liu Wenqing, born in 1954, is the Director of Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and an expert in environmental optical monitoring. He was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2013.
He is mainly engaged in environmental monitoring technology and equipment research. He has successively been responsible for the construction of a number of research platforms such as key laboratories of environmental optical monitoring technology for the Anhui Province, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, as well as the National Engineering Research Center for Environmental Optical Monitoring Instrument, built a spectral characteristic database for environmental pollutants, and developed the quantitative analytical algorithm of pollutant spectrum and the engineering application software. The achievement of the researches on the "Optical Monitoring Technology System and Application for Air Quality and Pollution Source Environment" and the "Research and Development, System Application and Equipment Industrialization of Comprehensive Stereoscopic Monitoring Technology for Atmospheric Environment" led by him won the second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2007 and 2011 respectively. Besides, he has won four provincial and ministerial science and technology first prizes as well as the 2012 Anhui Provincial Major Scientific and Technological Achievement Award.

Song Junqiang, born in Changsha, Hunan Province on July 21, 1962, is an expert in numerical weather forecasting and high-performance computing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a major general, and the dean and professor of the College of Meteorology and Oceanography, National University of Defense Technology. He is mainly engaged in the research and development of military numerical weather forecasting technology and equipment. By engaging in the front line of military numerical weather forecasting technology and equipment, he leads a series of key technology breakthroughs in the improvement of the accuracy of military numerical weather forecasting and resolves the problem of efficient parallel calculation in connection with numerical weather forecasting using domestic high-performance computers. The military numerical weather forecasting system developed under his leadership has been used in the General Staff, the Navy, the Air Force, the Rocket Force, and other entities. The weather forecasting products developed under his leadership have become the essential basis for the daily weather consultation and forecasting support at meteorological support entities of all levels across the PLA and have played an important role in meteorological support for military training, major military operations, and national defense scientific experiments, among other things. He has completed more than 20 major scientific research projects at the national and the PLA level and has won three first prizes and one second prize in the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and 13 first and second prizes in ministerial science and technology progress awards.

He Hong, born in Handan, Hebei Province on January 15, 1965, is an expert in air pollution prevention and control, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and deputy director of the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He focuses on environmental catalysis, heterogeneous atmospheric chemistry, design and research of environmental catalysis systems, and their application in the catalytic purification of atmospheric pollutants. He leads a number of important projects, including projects under the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Natural Science Foundation of China - Major International Cooperation Program, the National 863 Program, and the key projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and has more than 60 applications of national invention patents, 41 of which have been granted, and 12 of which have been exploited and applied. He is the author of Environmental Catalysis: Principles and Applications and more than 320 academic papers, including more than 280 SCI-indexed papers and 236 papers as first author or responsible author published in renowned academic journals, including PNAS, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., and Chem.Commun.

Gao Xiang, born in October 1968, is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a professor and doctoral supervisor and the dean of the College of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University, and the director of the National Engineering and Technology Center for Coal-fired Air Pollution Control for Environmental Protection.
He is committed to applied fundamental research and technology research and development in relation to pollution and carbon reduction in the fields of energy and environment and has obtained a series of innovations in energy and power, shipping, and other industries. He developed an efficient and collaborative multi-pollutant control system and resolved key technical challenges such as ultra-low emission at power plants and efficient purification of ship exhaust, all of which have achieved large-scale engineering applications. He has led projects under the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the 863 Program, the National Science and Technology Support Program, research projects of environmental public interest, national environmental production standards projects, and major provincial projects of Zhejiang.

Li Haisheng, born in 1964, is currently the President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences and was listed as a valid candidate for the 2021 Co-option of Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in April 2021.

Yan Gang is the Vice Present and researcher of Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
He is mainly engaged in research on climate change strategies and policies, atmospheric environment planning and policies etc. He has led the research on carbon peak pathways, synergy and efficiency improvement in pollution and carbon reduction in key industries and fields, comprehensive pollution control and transformation to ultra-low emission in key industries. He has won 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and 4 first prizes of provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.

Ao Xiaoqiang, born in 1964, is the General Manager of Beijing SDL Technology Co., Ltd.
