The Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory Park Construction Project (Phase I) Was Officially Kicked off

Recently, the Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory park construction project (Phase I) (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”) was officially kicked off. The kick-off ceremony was attended by ZHONG Hongwei, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area, along with relevant heads from the Ecological Environment and Urban Management Bureau of Sichuan Tianfu New Area and Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as “the Laboratory”).

At the kick-off ceremony, relevant heads from the Ecological Environment and Urban Management Bureau of Sichuan Tianfu New Area introduced the overall scope of the project. Adhering to the concept of “zero-carbon buildings and a zero-carbon park”, the Project strives to realize green and low-carbon management of the whole life cycle during implementation, and propels the construction site to achieve pollution reduction and carbon emission reduction during the entire construction process. The project aims to become a benchmark for Chengdu’s “construction sites with near-zero carbon emission” in the whole construction process. Subsequently, Deputy Director ZHONG Hongwei officially announced the commencement of the project’s construction. 

Located in the Science City of Tianfu New Area, Chengdu, the Project encompasses two land lots with a planned area of approximately 43,000 square meters and a planned total floorage of around 150,000 square meters. The above-ground floor space is about 110,000 square meters and the underground space is around 40,000 square meters. Lot 1 will be constructed into the research and development office and Lot 2 will house the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality laboratory.

The purpose of the Project is to build a transformation base for green and low-carbon experimental achievements and further form a “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” technology industrial ecosphere of the whole life cycle. The project intends to demonstrate the core functions of scientific and technological innovation through technological innovation, focus on the policy requirements for industries’ circle construction and industrial chain enhancement, and complete the deep integration between the “basic research - technological breakthroughs - industrial transformation” innovation chain and the industrial chain. Additionally, the Project will effectively support Chengdu in the construction of “three improvements and enhancements” for key areas and achieve high-quality development of regional physical economy.

Centered on addressing stranglehold problems, the Laboratory employs the design concept of an “infinite carbon cycle” for its park buildings and takes three-star green buildings, low-carbon parks, and low-carbon buildings as its design goals. The Project adopts various techniques including optimizing the climate micro-environment, creating a three-dimensional greening landscape, introducing natural light via the tubular daylighting system, comprehensively harnessing solar energy, utilizing an efficient collaborative electromechanical system, and establishing a smart energy management system. Through these measures, the Project can minimize building energy consumption and create a green, smart, and comfortable scientific and technological innovation platform and achievement transformation base.

Looking ahead, the Laboratory will devote intensified efforts to project construction, foster the gathering, development, demonstration, and dissemination of green industries, and craft an innovative source of carbon neutrality technology and an “engine” for industrial development.

Participants attending the kick-off ceremony include heads from construction institutions, supervision institutions, and institutions involved in the construction of near-zero carbon construction sites. Specifically, they comprise General Manager ZHANG Jun and Deputy General Manager WANG Qi of Tianfu Investment Group Co., Ltd., GOU Weijun, Deputy General Manager of the Fourth Engineering Company of China MCC5 Group Corp. Ltd., LI Jinlei, Deputy General Manager of CSCEC Southwest Consulting Company Limited, and ZHUO Junhao, Deputy General Manager of the Chengdu Company of China Testing and Certification International Group Co., Ltd.
