Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory Team Conducts a Seminar with Academician Gao Wen, Director of Pengcheng Laboratory, and His Delegation

On November 10, 2022, Academician Shi Bi, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory, led a team to communicate and discuss with Academician Gao Wen, Director of Pengcheng Laboratory, on institutional mechanisms of the Laboratory.

Academician Shi Bi stated that as a national Laboratory, Pengcheng Laboratory garnered extensive experience in aspects of management mechanism, research layout, and financial guarantee. They expected to seize this opportunity to draw on and learn the advanced construction and management experience of Pengcheng Laboratory and further deepen the exchanges and cooperation of both sides.

First of all, Liu Wanhua, Deputy Director of the Laboratory, briefed the Laboratory from three aspects including construction background, strategic development planning, and working progress. Then, Yang Jiankun, Assistant Director of Pengcheng Laboratory, expounded the Pengcheng Laboratory’s development about contents such as missions, management system of scientific research institutions, and talent cultivation, as well as sharing the working experience and achievements in institutional mechanisms and scientific research management of Pengcheng Laboratory.

During the conference, major discussions were carried out by both sides on the research tasks arrangements of the Laboratory. Academician Shi Bi exchanged with attendees themed on task direction and inter-agency cooperation of the Laboratory; While Liu Qingyou, a member of the Academic Committee of the Laboratory, and President of Chengdu University of Technology, communicated with attendees about the refinement and establishment of the scientific research tasks of the Laboratory. Academician Gao Wen pointed out that the Laboratory should strengthen top-level design, orient on national demands for scientific research tasks, and overcome vital problems that need to be handled within 5 to 20 years in accordance with the country’s requirements.

At the same time, both sides performed thorough discussions around fields of policy supporting and talent cultivation.
