RESEARCH FIELD
The Research Center for Geothermal Resource Exploration, Development, and Comprehensive Utilization is an innovation system led by Chengdu University of Technology, with numerous domestic universities, research institutes, and state-owned enterprises participating in the construction. Aiming at the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system and the strategic goal of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”, and focusing on the bottlenecks faced by the exploration, development, and comprehensive utilization of geothermal and associated resources in the Sichuan Basin, the center has condensed its technological research direction into four key areas. These include geothermal resource exploration and evaluation, the key technology of geothermal resource development and equipment research, the technology of the comprehensive utilization of medium and low-temperature geothermal resources and equipment research, and the technology of the efficient extraction technology of associated resources of geothermal water. The center aims to achieve breakthroughs in key theories and technologies in the field of geothermal energy, promote the development of geothermal and associated resource industries in Sichuan Province, and assist Sichuan in becoming a demonstration province for clean energy. Through these efforts, the center is working hard to build itself into a national level base for technological innovation, talent cultivation, technological exchange, and industrial promotion in the field of geothermal and associated resource development and utilization.
The center has a vibrant and well-structured high-level scientific research team, including 1 National Distinguished Young Scholar, 1 member of the National Young Thousand Talents Program, 1 Yangtze River Scholar, one Young Yangtze River Scholar, 2 Sichuan Province Academic and Technical Leaders and 1 Back-up Candidate, 1 member of Sichuan Province Thousand Talents Program, and 23 other young and middle-aged backbone members.
