Guidelines of Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory for Open Project Application (2024)

To all entities concerned, 

In order to create an organized research field and proactively practice the concept of "openness, sharing, integration, and innovation" in scientific research collaboration, Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as the "Laboratory") supports researchers in the field of carbon neutrality to carry out fundamental, original, cutting-edge exploration, and applied technological research by use of the laboratory’s resources. These Guidelines of Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory for Open Project Application (2024) are hereby announced, and the relevant matters are notified as follows: 

01/Applicants and Scope of Application 

Our open projects are open to domestic universities, research institutes, public institutions and enterprises in related research fields. All researchers who meet the application criteria can make an application. Researchers from the aforementioned entities are encouraged to conduct research in collaboration with laboratory researchers. 

02/Application Qualification 

1. Applications must be submitted in the form of a research team, consisting of not less than three members. Those by individuals will not be accepted. 

2. The principal investigator must abide by the Constitution and laws of the People's Republic of China, and maintain the correct political orientation, value orientation, and research orientation. 

3. The principal investigator should have profound academic attainments and rich research experience in the relevant research field, be able to independently conduct and organize research, undertake substantial research work, and hold a professional technical title of associate professor or higher (including associate professor) or a doctoral degree. 

4. Each principal investigator is permitted to apply for only one project, and shall not chair other topics before the ongoing one is completed. 

03/Application Requirements 

1. Each applicant should select a project for application according to these Guidelines (see Annex 1) and, in principle, should not change the project without permission. 

2. Each research team must carefully complete the Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory Open Project Application Form (see Annex 2). 

3. Each applicant must review the Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory Open Project Application Form, provide review comments, have it signed by the legal representative, and affix the official seal of the applicant to it. 

4. The research period for each project is generally one year, and early completion is encouraged. 

5. Each applying entity should strengthen the organization, guidance, and review of the project application work to ensure the quality of the application. 

6. Based on valid applications, the Laboratory will select an entity responsible for the project through expert evaluation and public announcement through the prescribed procedures and the merit-based principle, and sign an Open Project Task Assignment with it. 

7. After the project is approved, the research team should promptly submit any latest valuable phased research results to the Laboratory. All research results must be marked in Chinese or English with the phrase "Supported by the Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory Organized Research Project Funding, Grant No. 20xxKFKTxxx", and in any patents or papers published, the Laboratory should be listed as the first entity author. 

04/Application Process 

This application process will be conducted offline. 

1. Application: Applicants should visit the New - Notice Page at http://www.tfyxlab.cn/ to download the Guidelines for Open Project Application (Annex 1) and the Project Application Form (Annex 2) in an electronic format. The completed electronic version of the Project Application Form should be sent to the designated email address before 5:00 PM on July 20, 2024. Late submissions will result in disqualification. Four hard copies of the Project Application Form, stamped and sealed, should be submitted to Tianfu Yongxing Laboratory before 5:00 PM on July 22, 2024. (Serving by mail is permitted, and in this case, the serving time shall be subject to the actual date of serving.) 

2. Approval: The Laboratory will organize relevant experts to review the proposed projects. Applicants and their respective entities will be notified of the review results. 

3. Implementation: The principal investigator will carry out the work according to the signed Project Task Assignment. 

4. Mid-term inspection: At the mid-term stage of the project, the execution report should be submitted as required. 

5. Acceptance: Upon completion of the project, relevant experts organized by the Laboratory will conduct the final acceptance. Within two months upon completion of the project, the principal investigator should submit the project results and completion materials to the Laboratory, including but not limited to, a summary of the research work and research reports.
